These are the events we usually run.
We are open to any new events that you would like to help organise. Please get in touch : admin@barleyhillschoolptfa.org and we can help you to get the ball rolling to plan the next event. We also always need new volunteers to help plan our current calendar of events and to get involved on the day.
Where we sell tickets they are sold via the school's Parentpay for school only events. Keep an eye out for a parent mail which will give you the information for the event.

Each year Thame Carnival raises huge amounts of money for charities and organisations from Thame and the surrounding villages. Much of the money raised is via each stall being run by the charity themselves. Additionally the Thame Carnival team selects it’s own charities and this year they have chosen these 3 charities.
Florence Nightingale Hopsice Charity
Thame Citizens Advice
Maggie's Oxford
Every year on the morning after Thame Carnival, Thame Round Table takes to the river and stages their annual duck race.
The race is effectively a giant floating lottery, which involves dropping more than 1,000 individually numbered rubber ducks into the River Thame. If you have bought a ticket with a number that matches one of the first three ducks over the line, you win a prize. All other proceeds from the ticket sales are donated to local causes.
Adding to the fun is the irrepressible pirate, Captain Ducky. A children's favourite and housewives' choice (albeit quite often his choice, not theirs). Over the years he has followed the ducks down river in a variety of craft, but has ended up in the drink often enough to qualify for an RNLI loyalty card.
The race starts on the old town bridge, which is accessed from the bottom of Priest End, behind St Mary's church. Gates open at 10:30am and the race will start at 11:00am, finishing around 12:00pm.
80% of all Ticket sales for the PTFA will come back to the PTFA.

Every year the Round Table invite us to join them spreading some Christmas cheer around Thame. Santa visits every road in Thame and he asks us to provide 8 - 10 parents to help him along his journey. This starts at 6pm meeting at Queens Close. It's a great evening out and raises much needed funds at the same time - watch out for the sign up sheet on our Volunteer sign up page.
