Welcome to Barley Hill School Parent, Teachers and Friends Association
Here at Barley Hill Primary School we are proud to have an active Parent, Teachers and Friends Association (Barley Hill School PTFA) and that we are able to make a positive impact on the children's experience of school and help to bring the whole school community together.
We do this through a variety of ways including (but not limited to):
Hosting Facebook groups for each year group, enabling parents to connect with other parents at the school.
Running events, some of which the main purpose is fundraising for the school. For others the main focus is enriching the children's experience at the school or bringing the community together.
Hosting play dates each summer for the incoming EYFS intake.
Fundraising Focus 2023-24
At the start of every academic year, we agree our funding priorities with the Headteacher. This year we have committed to fund
£750 on enhancing the schools SEND provision broken down as
£350 on therapeutic tools such as wobble cushions, fidgets, calm box items for the rainbow room and classrooms
£150 on STEM / sensory / motor skills games for use in the rainbow room and lunch clubs
£50 on lights & crafts for the calm room
£100 books for the rainbow room
£100 on resources for the cloud
Up to £5,500 to install a Canopy in the EYFS garden, the garden currently has very little shade making it difficult for the pupils to fully access the garden and resources in it.
Up to £1,000 to update and replace items in EYFS, including creating a "road" for the garden, fine motor resources, diversity toys and refurbing the reading areas.
£150 for the carnival float
£200 per year group to be upgraded to £200 per class, with the intention to help with extra costs for school trips / topic launch / extras etc
Up to £1,000 for Library / topic books to keep up to date with new items published
£200 for Forest school
The School is currently investigating the cost and feasibility of creating an area specifically for ball games and has asked the PTFA to fund this as the next big project.
